Bird of the week: Blue Tit

A Blue Tit with attitude!

© Carl Bovis, “Blue Tit”

These little birds are one of the most common and fun birds to visit a bird feeder in northern Europe: they are small and acrobatic, chatter quite a bit and are mischievous but cute. With that little spot of blue on top of their head they’re very easy to spot. They are very similar to the Chickadee you’re probably more familiar with (we don’t have Chickadees in Europe!), and the Titmouse. All are in the same bird family known as the Paridae.

If you follow Carl Bovis, you’re bound to see plenty of them on his timeline, as he cannot resist these little charming rascals.

Do you have a bird photo to share? Head on over to your class’s Padlet and share!
